Before the demolition of Fleet Building the murals were removed and placed on display on the highwalk outside the Barbican Centre in the City of London UK.

This building has now been demolished to make way for an ASDA store July 2010

Hi Mupton... Thats interesting . I have never noticed that in the stones. Will check it out when I next pass. I wonder if its the "Bill Cobby" who made the large Guys for the bonfire societies in Hastings including the HBBS in the 90s. I think he worked on the roads and is around in St Leonards on Sea? - Thanks for the comment BH.

I value your sensitivity towards our heritage Captainkeena. In this photograph I have only put a question to initiate a debate.

If we can afford to replace the existing shelter we do not have to accept an inferior design ["Adshel" etc] but open a competition and choose the best one. I am sure there would be better proposals than the existing design.

It is like the famous BT red telephone kiosk, it served perfectly well but it is now a museum piece and kept only few places as heritage furniture.

The Entrance Pillars at Alexandra Park Hastings East Sussex before they were replaced by copies of original sandstone pillars and gates.
