I remember this building! I remember the old steam engine locomotives in use until 55 years ago (I was 8 years old.) then replaced by diesels. As a youngster I would go with my mother to the Red Bank train station to pick up my father on his commute home from Jersey City. Typically the commuters wore business suits and hats, and some carried a folded newspaper. They sweltered in the summertime. We lived in Middletown. Our house was near the train tracks, and occasionally cinders from a steam engine would ignite fires in adjacent brush and farm fields. Ah, the good ol' days.

This was before the March 2010 fire -- the Manchester and houses next to it and behind it were destroyed. New houses are rising from the ashes!
