This is St. Michael's Catholic Church on Ocean Ave. in Long Branch NJ. The grotto where the statue of the Blessed Virgin is was uncovered during a restoration in the 60's or 70's. The church was kept this bright red color so as to act as a landmark for ships about to enter the NY harbor. This was my parish for many years and I truely do miss it. I now live out of state. What a beautiful photo. Great job F RIM!
