RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 was built by John Brown and Company, Clydebank and launched in 1967. She was seen with Cunard liners Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria on 22 April 2008 in the Port of Southampton. On 11 November 2008 she left Southampton for the last time. Her final cruise will take her to Palm Jumeirah, Dubai where she will be converted into a five-star luxury hotel.

The present Tyne Class will be replaced by a £2.5 million Tamar class boat in 2011. The Tamar has a speed of 25 knots and a range of 250 nautical miles. The existing lifeboat station can't house the larger boat so a new station will have to be built off-shore.

Since this photograph was taken, the band have been awarded a recording contract and will be bringing out their first album in August 2008. They will also be appearing in a Celtic folk festival in Lorient, Brittany in the summer 2008. More recently they will be recording a programme for BBC Radio Wales to be broadcast on St Davids Day.
