It's a beautiful spot. Perhaps preserved because of the newer bridges and routes diverting traffic away from it. I spent over an hour there and didn't see another vehicle.
When there is sufficient power, yes. But there is rarely sufficient from such natural sources for our increasing demands. Especially with climate change, domino-ing off or our increasing demands. As I replied to another comment, this doesn't HAVE to be a condemnation of the current state of human affairs -- unless we want to take it as such. I know fault-finding is a big part of Western culture -- but it is also a big part of what hardens us against changes that will be necessary unless we want to leave our great-grandchildren with a withered and toxified husk of a planet for their inheritance.
