One of my favourites. The picture was taken at 7:30 am one morning in August. We slept on the beach that night and took the picture before the crowds arrived.
This is one of my favourite bars in Santander. Very few tourist know it so you will find mostly locals. It is off the city centre, by a place known as "El Faro" (or "The Lighthouse"). Great views and drinks. Also, go inside the bar and look at the "collection" they have.
This phto is not mine actually. I got it from www.rutasporcantabria.com but I like it because I remember the day of this storm. It was middday and I was in the town of my parents, just under the darkest cloud on the right. I remember seeing the storm approach and the street lights went on when the storm was above us (the photo-sensor thought the night was coming). First came a distant lightning, then the darkness, then the hail the size of plums, and then the heaviest rain I ever saw. I also remember seen a group of sheep seeking refuge in a small building about 2 minutes before all of this happened.

The local cow, or "vaca tudanca". There are many "ferias" or fairs where local farmers show their herds.

On the east side of Santander there is a farming area with cliffs by the sea. No need to go to Ireland to enjoy these kind of landscapes.
