I was there by that time, actually what I noticed is that there were restoration works in progress in the facade of the Cathedral, and those works were sponsored by that bank, who covered the workers doing their thing with that sign depicting a rendering of the possible life during Renaissance. In my opinion a wise way of handling it.

by the way, this 'san' Pietro is NOT the apostle but a judge culprit of the killing of dozen of innocents, a real SHAME of the humanity. Commuting between Como and Monza, where he was used to put on fire people beter than him, finally was killed in Cantù. But the good fellows Domenicans pushed to make him saint arguing that he wrote with his own blood by starving a cross, sign of genuine faith and that was. Another shadow over our history that the church and the Domenicans was not able (not finding the courage to recognise to have been worse that Hitler or, worse, being still convinced that they was doing well, like with Giordano Bruno and Galileo) to clear.
