Jay Reeve's conversations

Gintarele,

I had no idea my photos could be reached so quickly from the Panoramio map, but I'm delighted you arrived here. I believe different people look for different things in photographs. I am a musician by profession, so I tend to look for color, rhythm, contrast, harmony, clarity, and beauty--the same things I want in music. It's always nice to find someone who appreciates the same qualities. Thanks for visiting--and for confirming the dogwood. That's what I suspected from exploration on Google images, but I didn't see anything quite as square in the blossom.

Gintarele,

Thanks for your comment. I think you are right, although I find no other photos of Black Cherry with this leaf coloration. I recall someone on site telling me they were poisonous, which apparently is true of the foliage, as it contains cyanide. I'm glad to have an answer after 2-1/2 years!

Эцилопп,

I just happened to be standing at exactly the right angle to get the eye effect from the hole. Otherwise, I would never have noticed it. Thanks for the comment.

Wiep, We have more sparrows and blackbirds, too, but hummingbirds are not too uncommon. This part of Colorado is on a migration route, making them abundant during parts of the year. Thanks for the comment.

HephzWolf,

The irony is that I stopped the car to photograph a group of deer next to the road. By the time I got the camera ready, the deer were long gone, but this troupe appeared soon thereafter. Thanks for your comment!

HephzWolf,

It was a fun--and memorable--morning in the neighborhood. Thanks for your comment!

Andrey, This is not so uncommon here. We see it several times a year when there is a light mist and the temperature is around 0ºC. When the sun shines on it, it is extraordinarily beautiful, but often difficult to capture with a camera. This particular morning was especially gorgeous. The scary part is that it does this to roads, too! Thanks for your comment.
