This is the playground of the 1950s. Here kids would be fishing for small river trout, or rather char, playing indians and cowboys or simply explore the secrets of the valley. How many we were? Well, from 2 to 10. There used to be one more cottage in the bushes on the left hand side.

Thanks for your comment, Stanislaw, I have just discovered your very good photos from northern Norway(where I grew up). Actually my grandparents met each other here in Hamningberg, and were married here in about 1906, I think. So this town which lies so deserted during the winter (except for some summer cottages) has a lot of meaning to me.

Answer to Skrajunas, in this county, Finnmark: several nations are present: about 10000 Sami directly involved in the reindeer industry. + about 50.000 Norwegians whose ancestors have mostly lived here also for several centuries, intermixed with a substantial group of Finns, of whom some still speak their native language. So, in short- three groups: Norwegians are in absolute majority, some Finns and a few Sami. They live mostly from Fishing in the Barents Sea and also aquaculture is becoming important.

I came across this panoramic photo in an old private collection, made a small version of it that you can see if you click TWICE on the photo itself. The the low hill with the farm fields lie in front of us, where, today, there is a big town of some 75.000 inhabitants. The harbour is filled with sailing ships. There may be one single steam powered a bit to the right in the photo.

Campo San Geremia, is very close to the Ferrovia, the railwaystation. It gives a fresh authentic view of ordinary life in Venice, to the extent that one can say life is authentic in this quaint, chaotic, beutiful city.

Fabelaktig flinke til å lage mat i Danmark!
