En ese apartamento los q vivian o viven son de apellido Lincheta, muchas veces entraba yo por esas ventanas para no tener q caminar hasta la entrada del edificio porque yo salia de mi casa por Hornos y si los apartamentos son Townhouse
Joe, ask your mother if she remembers the Zura clan? Puzz, Pete, Mike, Jerry and the girls. Mike Zura was my grandfather and the rest were all great uncles, aunts and cousins. There were some great times on this little island. If these islands could only talk.
Now it just sits in the middle of Lake Erie like so many of the others with no more stories to tell. What a shame.
The last model year for the Mustang at Dearborn Assy was 2004, the 2005 Mustangs were built at the Mazda plant. I been driving semi for 33 yrs and spent many a hour in both. You take some fantasic pics, keep up the great work. Rich
Do you mean PERRY ST.. or MADISON ST?? It has taken me a long time to check my Panaramio "conversations", so please excuse me for that.
We have had a few fires on the Islands over the years.
In 1983 the BEER BARREL SALOON on Put in Bay burned to the ground in 45 minutes on Memorial Day weekend.
A terrace collapesed at LONZ Winery on Middle Bass Island, killing one person and injuring several others... in about 2002, or so. It has remained closed since then. The State of OHIO now owns all of the former LONZ WINERY property.
and Walleye's Bar on Middle Bass Island burned to the ground, a few years after that... and has been rebuilt.

Thanks for these pictures, and your comments in English, which I hadn't noticed until today.
I am sure there was MUCH NOISE when my grandma worked in the rail yard (as a teenager (?)during WWI. I think my Grandpa was on the RUSSIAN FRONT in those days. I think they were married after that. I don't think they would call them "good old times" in those times. But your pictures, surely convey the POWER of the FEELINGS that you speak of.
I hope someday to visit this place, of my grandparents, before I die.
My grandma told me and my Brothers and sister, stories of working in the rail yard, and at the "ROUNDHOUSE"... when she ROTATED the TURN-TABLE when the locomotive was not fully centered on the turntable... and the locomotive "CAB" house on the turntable collided with another. And she got into "so much trouble" for that...
But, we laughed and laughed about it, when I was quite young... Late 1950s, I think.
Thanks again for bringing this strange and wonderful place, and memories of my grandma, closer to me today.

Really interesting moment for take a photo from plane during spill of slag from ladle:)
Great photo!
That's a really interesting thing. How hard does the wind have to blow to make the water level drop this drastically?
