The pictures here on this website show a beautiful An Loc. In April of 1972, a very real war was fought here. 50,000 N.Vietnamese troops surrounded An Loc. I came to Vietnam in late May and spent the next two months navigating a C-130 over An Loc resupplying the small contingent of RVN Rangers and US Special forces and the city of 15,000. I delivered the bundles with 3-large chutes that opened at 1000 feet into a soccer field.
