The French built a narrow guage railway from the Northern tip of Don Det to the Southern tip of Don Khon to by-pass the rapids which prevented ships from navigating this portion of the Mekong River. This abandoned locomotive used to haul cargo (ships?) along the railway. In October 2009 I noticed a tall concrete structure in Don Det which was probably used to load/unload cargo.

Well, I would say that the present location of the church cannot be exactly determined, because it may change from time to time. This picture was shot 2005.
