Nine Stones Port - a beautiful scenic spot
Nine Stones Port in Pucheng, Fujian is an ideal place to go when you visit the Wuyi Mountain in the Fujian Province of China. Nine Stones Port is located only 100 km away from Wuyi mountain. It is also adjacent to Jingdezhen and Sanqing mountain in Jiangxi, Huangshan Mountain in Auhui and Yandang Mountain in Zhejiang. Surrounded by the quietude of nature and the echoes of history, Nine Stones Port, a very popular scenic spot since ancient times, brings us back to a world thousands of years ago....
Attractions: Mountains similar to Mt. Wuyi, though on a smaller scale, hold plenty of historical and cultural relics. A breathtaking river promises the perfect rafting trip.
History: Preserved by the government of the Fujian Province, Jiu Shi Du includes a Daoist temple, a Song dynasty ceramics production site and a village established over 2000 years ago. Various court officials, poets and scholars, such as Jiang Yan (A.D.444-506), the greatest poet during the Nan Chao dynasty (A.D.420-589), and Xu Ke Xia (A.D.1587-1641), the most famous traveler during the Ming Dynasty, also left their marks here. It was a famous retreat for these great figures.
Landscape: Rolling hills intermixed with spectacular red sandstone formations. Most of the rocks on both river banks were named for their interesting shapes, such as the Big Bell, the Elephant Trunk, the Mouse Rock, the Cat Range, the Money Cave, etc. The boatman narrates the beautiful legend behind these natural wonders.
