Hi Malcolm,Nice photo of Michaelstone school, I went to this school in the 50s, I remember you and your mother (mrs Head), used to buy snacks from her in the pub entrance (fond memories), used to live in druidstone house my uncle used to own it, you should remember my dad Harold broughton he's 85 now and living next door to me in Ystrad Mynach,sadly my mother passed away in 2007,still call in the pub when we go to the grave. Hello, Malcolm, we lived in the village opp the Post Office,from 1950 till 59 and Mum worked part time for Mrs Head, as a waitress at the dinners when required, I used to travell with the vicars son Peter Jones Evans to Castleton on our bikes to catch the bus to Bassaleg Grammar school, I later worked for Mr Bernard Pendlebury, as well as Ty Hir Farm, then owned by J Roy Paton and later Donald Kelly
