Wanless lake in the Cabinet mountain wilderness.
Flat-top peak to the right of center.
(Funny that while mapping the location - Google Maps shows the lake as "Swamp Creek Lake".
Monture creek is a restored bull trout habitat.
It is a 12 mile hike to the falls from the Monture Creek campground. Many outfitters use the trail to access the Bob Marshall wilderness.
There is no spur trail leading down to the creek here, a bushwhack over the burned downfalls was necessary.

The ridge hike from here over to Gypsy peak is awesome.
I see you like lookouts, have you been to Surveyors Lookout?
PS - we placed a geocache there in 2007 (which has yet to be found)
Una toma espectacular felicidades
Gypsy Peak (at right) in the Salmo-Priest Wilderness, is the highest peak in Eastern Washington State at 7320' elevation.
Tropical fish in the tide pools near Hulopoe beach.
Close! But I think it's actually Humuhumunukunukuapua'a :-) (PS - I see we were on Lanai'i on the same day in Feb '07...)
How much of your trip through the Bob was along the CDT?
Awesome shot! The lighting is very nice, and I like how the trees frame it.
