Hi dear friend Mary Alice
You have really artistic pictures in your album.
This is an excellent shot.
All the best from Iran,

Hi Keith
Thanks for your comment. It was taken through a double glazed hotel window. To steady the camera I placed it on a table with a 2 second timer delay.

Hi Keith
Thanks for your comments.
Wester Ross is quite different from the highlands, more light, more flowers and trees. A bit far north, it is even two days travel from Stranrear but worth it. We keep going back.
And yes there are great roads and vues. Not much progress though, we keep stopping to watch the vues.

Hi Keith
Bowed positive slides cannot be scanned in their frames because some of the picture will be out of focus. Only solution is to take the film out of the frame but this destroys the slide for any future use.
I have a box of several hundred Kodachrome slides taken on a Voiglander (built like a German tank). Difficulty is that slide frame thickness varies depending on processing lab; this causes focusing difficulties also.
I missed the Canoscan when shopping for a slides scanner. Epson V750 is much more expensive. It take any film type and size but needs profiles for each film type to get good results.

Joe,
That is the coolest! You actually still have a place where they come out and pump your gas for you? I'm loving even the thought of it! Wow ~ those were truly the days!
We still had a station in Thomaston that pumped the gas for you up until about three years ago, but the old man passed away, and with that, also the station.
Cherish the station you have while it's still there! It is indeed a rarity!
Great talking to you,
Mary Alice

Hi Keith (changed comment)
Thanks for your comments on these photos.
This series of photos was taken using my compact Canon IXUS 960 IS camera. Small enough to carry in a pocket but only takes .jpg photos. Light balance corrected in Lightroom but colour is disappointing, sunrise on rocks is not right.
Early morning while staying at the Copeland Bird Observatory in the old lighthouse keeper's house. Great week-end away from it all.
