It took me 20 minutes to get this shot. I started by watching what direction the waves were coming in from and then watched for the frequency of how often I could see the wave break in the way I wanted to capture.
Turned out to be every sixth wave - and that's where the challenge began. I was laying in the surf trying to arrange the best camera angle for the image. The waves had a tendency to pick me up and toss me into the beach - forcing me to scramble back into position...
Plenty of missed shots - some too soon or too late, or those that didn't capture the scene I wanted to convey.
