I was in the landing force that day on LST 698. I was the OinC of LCT 898 that was side launched from LST 689 after she pulled off the beach in the initial landing. We (LCT 898) remained in Leyte gulf after LST 689 continued North for other landings. I remained in Leyet Gulf for 13 months joining the ADCOM staff in June 1945, departing for the US on Nov 20 1945.

These are the staps on the West side of Alumni Court toward the football field. The court is through the arches and each pillar has the names of graduates by class engraved thereon.I am on the 1941 pillar.

I was on active duty with the US Navy in 1955-1956 and we called the river the Wadi Sebou or Oed Sebou. I belive the photo could betterr serve if it identified it as the river Sebou or the Arabic name Oed Sebou. We ere told the Oed was pronounced Wadi
