this is the lutheran church where my grandfather and his brother's and sisters were baptised and confirmed before they emigrated to the united states during the period of 1880 to 1906. his name was adam karl schmidt the son of johannes and margaretha (eichler) schmidt. his one half brothers/sisters from the konig family remained in wehrda. johannes schmidt's first wife was margartha trapp (died about 1879)who's brother came to america with wilhelm schmidt (adam's one half brother) about 1882 was named charles trapp. the whole schmidt family were stonemason/bricklayers in the johnstown, PA area.
adam karl schmidt is also related to the trapp family from wehrda. margethra (trapp)schmidt was johannes schmidt's first wife who died about 1879. her brother charles trapp emigrated to the united states with adam's older one half brother wilhlem schmidt in the 1880's.
