This photo was taken at Merimbula Airport during the Jingera Rock bushfires. The Air Tractors came in to be filled with phos-chek (an ochre-coloured fire retardant) that they would then lay in a line over the fire to stop it.

The paddock to the north of Murmungee Track was where the ACT bushfire fighting taskforce was staged during the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires for the first two taskforces.

This view is travelling south along Brindabella Road towards Picadilly Circus, with the entrance of Blundell's Creek Rd on the left and Brindabella Rd on the right. There used to be a sign marking Blundell's Creek road, but it isn't there any more.

This is DSS43 in the stowed position. Just after this photo was taken, it rolled in to life and turned to the south at an almost 90 degree angle to the above photo so that it was virtually horizontal and was tracking Voyager 2.

My friends and I use to go swimming here all the time. I really miss those days in the 1980's. Boy that makes me sound old. I do think there was more water though.

The Cotter is one of the most popular picnic areas in the ACT. At the end of this tree-lined avenue, is the Cotter Dam. Watch out for the overly-tame Crimson Rosellas that will pinch your food righ off the BBQ!
