Back in the 40s, when my husband was a kid, he and friends would walk the tracks on the trestle. When a train was coming they crawled down beneath the tracks and held on for dear life.
This is just upstream from where the Snake River joins the Columbia River. Lewis and Clark spent some time at the mouth of the Snake River on their journey to the Pacific.
