This is "Wailing Island" near the entrance to the narrows on Loch Lomond so called because it was used as the local prison and the wails of the inmates could be heard across the water in the eirie silence that sometimes haunts this part of the loch.
Lovely picture. Taken outside the Library in Royal Exchange Square/Queen Street. This is a national treasure and as soon as his cone is removed, someone replaces it. I love a Scottish sense of humour!
