A mid-may evening in Svolvær, Lofoten, North Norway; looking north east across the harbour. The triangular fish-drying racks are a typical feature of this part of the Lofoten islands, and in the distance you can just make-out the peaks of the mountains of mainland Norway, over 20 miles away on the other side of the Vestfjord.
This is one of a pair of skull and crossed bones gateposts at the entrance to St Nicholas' church in Deptford, South East London. They are alleged to be the inspiration for the skull & crossbones pirate flag.
