These boats are laid up on the east side of the bay, north of Malawi Railways' dockyard.
The cargo ship is the 'Mpasa', I believe it was built just before or soon after World War II. Alongside it is a small tug. Malawi Railways had a number of these which they used to tow barges up and down the lake. These tugs were built for the invasion of Europe in 1944, and were designed for use on canals.
