I skiied this hill in the early 60's, when I was posted to Petawawa.If I remember correctly it had a shack at the base. It was the closest hill to that area in those days. Now Calibogie Peaks has taken over.I have driven by the location a number of times and it sure looks forelorn!!

This is the old schoolhouse in Lavant. It was a main stopping point on the Old K&P line which closes in the 1950s. The town is pretty much abandoned now, but still has some nice homes in the area and is a cottage community.

I don't know if you are unique to do such extreme challenge...but it could be an interesting "touristic" event if there other "challengers" like you. I would have liked to see that.
