I was very lucky to get any usable shots at all. The bird never came closer than 500 yards. I don't have a full frame camera and one of those £££'s lenses.

There's always an element of luck in nature photography. I used up more than my fair share to get these.

Hi Kenny , I did use manual focus but that didn't eliminate the need for a great deal of luck as well. These insects hover for a moment or two then vanish in the blink of an eye.

I ended up with 10 or so acceptable shots and dozens of useless ones.
