Galatas ©
Amateur picture taker from the northwest of England. I don't consider myself a photographer. just a guy with a camera. Owning a camera doesn't make you a photographer any more than owning a piano or a guitar makes you a musician.
I enjoy walking and photographing wildlife.
Most of my Panoramio pics are in line with the site's original intended purpose ie simply to show places on the map as they are on the ground , rather than for any "artistic" content or technical merit. I'm far too lazy to do complex image manipulation ; a few basic adjustments and that's it.
Since "Street View" made most of our photos redundant I now try to take photos mostly where the "Street Car" couldn't go. Hence my many bird photos.
WYSIWYG does not apply to photography (every pleasant scene doesn't automatically make a great photo).
Hindsight is a wonderful thing , nevertheless , I try not to make excuses for my many bad photos. I often wish I had processed my photos more carefully instead of rushing to upload them.
I still get a great deal of pleasure from taking them even if not many turn out as well as I hoped. All shortcomings are down to me and my lack of skills either in taking or processing my pics.
Each time I learn something new it makes me aware how little I know and how much more there is to learn.

Cheers mate. This is the first I've ever seen. It appears to be "on territory" now and I've been able to spot it in the same place on two occasions this week.

WoW! Interesting species. What we have is paddyfield instead of meadow. When I upload my pipit, I will definitely link back to this photo.
