I agree wholeheartedly with you, by the way, about the need for good quality documentary photography, as opposed to the new trend for over-processed interpretive/creative photography which, whilst dramatic and stirring, is more appropriate to sites like Flickr or Photobucket.
Google Earth shots should be realistically illustrative of what you'd see if you went there, I believe.
Your other photos were uploaded in late November. It may be another week or two before they appear in Google Earth. It usually takes about 6 weeks from upload to seeing them in Google Earth
To be honest , I had an awful time trying to adjust the white balance. This came about more by accident than design. But I liked it the moment I saw it.

Most of my Panoramio pics are inline with the site's original intended purpose ie to show places on the map as they are on the ground , rather than for any "artistic" content , or great technical merit.
Although far from being an expert in any way I'm happy to pass on what little I have learned to help others enjoy their photography as much as I do.
