I'm also a contributing author for the Illinois Office of Tourism, covering downstate Illinois. I enjoy showing and explaining life in the Midwest, a wondrous place that some see as empty, but is more full of life than any place I can imagine. It would remind you a bit of the Sydney Opera house. :-). I Like this one just as much.

All the best from Ireland

Just a heads up this is mapped to the wrong location, should be about 2 miles east of where it's at. Cheers!

This giant American flag stands in a cornfield at Mid America Motorworks. The pole is well over 100' tall and the flag can be seen for miles.

I'm actually from and live in Stewardson (a few miles south of where you turn off 32 to go to the cemetary), so thousands of my photos are from that area. Most of which are so close to the subjects that one could probably not relate the subject to the area. I do try to take a day or two every month and go 'for a drive' around the Cowden/Shelbyville area because of the river and the associated scenery. Thanks for commenting!

The 'Goat Tower' North of Wolf Creek SP by Shelbyville, IL. Yes, the goats walk up the spiral staircase and they do sleep inside the tower.........

Wow....super car collection at the MY Garage Museum on the Mid America Motorworks campus! The website addy is http://www.mygaragemuseum.com/

Many rare corvettes and VW's...including several of the Herbie movie cars, the car from the Mark Hamill film, 'Corvette Summer' and the car that David Carradine drove in the cult classic, 'Death Race 2000'.

Corvette and VW aftermarket parts giant. Their website is www.mamotorworks.com
