In a few years this tree could easily get a bit part in "the Wizard of Oz" or LOTR`s "Fanghorn".
My money would have been on the German Tigers.

This well caped a spring on the Gleniffer Braes above Paisley, just below a trig. point that now surrounded by the comparitively new Robertson Park, and was removed when a hotel was built between the well and the road.
This view give a good idea of just how high the masts of these sailing ships soared in the sky. The thought of climbing up these heights to haul on heavy sails, would speed me down to the lower decks to face the big red hot iron cannon balls with a feeling of relief.
