I Figured the repel tower would be about this height when I first heard I'd be doing that this summer. Then I actually got to the repel tower and saw it was only 32 ft. How disappointing.
That is "centerline road" which runs the length of Test Range B-70, the only supersonic test range at Eglin AFB, Florida. The tracks to the side of the main road are for tanks and other tracked vehicles. The "buildings" to the side are bunkers, old cargo modules, a bridge or two and other targets used by aircraft. This was also the site of the MOAB "Mother of All Bombs" which was a gas-air bomb. It leveled a large patch of ground and killed a nearby herd of deer that were grazing.
