No, not at all! He has had a good life, and when he lived in this house in Utrecht he was happy. I have good memories of those times and also of this particular place.

Mijn smaak is het ook niet, maar apart is het wel. Elke tijd heeft zo zijn eigenaardigheden - nog geen reden voor sloop. (Ook de Eiffeltoren werd niet meteen door iedereen gewaardeerd!)

My wife and I visited Malang in 2002. I remember a beautiful city hall (with pond in front of it) not far from the railway station, a bridge across a deep ravine and river, a big busy square with mosque and church, and, some streets behind that, a Chinese temple. We liked Malang very much! And I am honoured to be allowed to participate in your group.

Sampai jumpa,

It certainly is, and I absolutely wanted to see it. Maybe with boots on I could have gone a bit further still...

Actually, I was standing then on the top of the Portland peninsula and looking back towards the coast of (the mainland of) Dorset, near Weymouth.

Dear Machmudjunus,

Thank you for your compliments! So you have visited our country. I visited Indonesia in 2002 and liked your country and its people very much. So I will take a look at your photos, maybe I'll recognize some places over there.

Greetings, Jan Nuijten
