I used to swim and fish right here when I was a child/teenager it is a beautiful estuary. Have you walked up to the monument on the hill then around fields to the back of little petherick creek? lovely in the spring

Thanks (very belatedly) Paul. This cascade is on the popular path that climbs Stickle Ghyll to Stickle Tarn, which nestles beneath the famous Langdale Pikes. Tarn Crag at the top right of the shot is only a rocky outcrop on the side of the Pikes, but looks impressive from this perspective. This shot is scanned in from a film print taken on a Canon 1000FN.
