The Concorde seen in the distance was the last ever to fly. The captain jammed his cap in between two equipments on the flight deck, so it remains there forever. (The aircraft expands as it reaches high speeds and contracts when its speed reduces.)

This looks like split cotter pins. Not the most exciting engineering design

This is a wonder live theatre in Blackpool where all the comedy and musical stars of the day perform.

We were lunching in the sun while we waited to see Tommy Steele as Doctor Dolittle.

This crew headed, by our Irish pilot (left) incurred a spurious radio fault to make sure we had some decent pictures of the last 30 Squadron Beverly (X?148) departing after sunup. I have some lovely old fashioned cine film of it disappearing into the early morning mist.

The squadron would take three long days to trudge back to UK and decided on a very early start. But the plan was for S/L King to take the final bow; which was scuppered.

As each aircraft took off (30 minutes apart) they did a very low, full power, pass right across RAF Muharraq to make sure the whole station was awake!

Had you heard those four big heavy engines on each of the six passes, I am sure you would be awake!

This very large house that now has a sad history now.

In the 80's the building was used as the police headquarter for the TV drama series ‘Bergerac’ with John Nettles in the title role.

It was then turned into a very good youth centre.

In the 50's and 60's the building was a childrens home; where there was apparent child abuse going on. There also seems to be evidence of child murders.

As I write this in July 2008 a German wartime bunker nearby is also being investigated.

Such a sad history.

This unfortunate aircraft was a few days short of delivery to an airline. The engines were on full power and hit the revetment wall. As far as I am aware no one was seriously hurt.

A delightful cottage where we stayed in 2006. The owners insisted you kept a diary of your stay and there were diaries as far back as the 1980's.

The centre of Chester is unique because it has a shopping experience called 'The Rows'. The balcony you see is actually a shopping archade that runs on the first floor of every frontage on all the streets in the centre.
