"Light dome"? I'm not sure what you are referring to. The light is from the city of Las Vegas, lighting up the smog that tends to hang over the city. The photo is taken from about 150 miles away. There isn't any other source for light pollution in this area... though I suppose the Groom Lake facility (Area 51) is in the same direction and may have contributed (yes, seriously). As bright as this looks in the photo, it was quite difficult to see. This night was the darkest I have ever experienced outdoors and above ground.
