I don't know much about photography, but my eye seems to appreciate aesthetics. I go where it says to. I play with color and contrast and sharpness and maybe someday I'll have a clue what I'm doing.
When I grow up, I want two 58mm infrared filters (one at 720nm and one at 950nm) and a gIMP macro that swaps the red and blue channels. I hope they don't compromise the known hotspot on the XTi too much.

I am California raised and am here right now. I had one day in London about two years ago during which I snapped a picture of that tree. It's not far from the northernmost tube station.

I know exactly where that is. Every time I pass by it I think of photographing it. But I'm just getting into photography, and I doubt I could do better.

Random structure?
This isn't a random structure! This is Los Angeles stealing our water! :)
It's part of the California Aqueduct. It's where all the water starts getting pumped up the hill to spill over into LA County.
